Mike trained as a Respiratory Physician in Christchurch and subsequently completed a PhD in Perth, Western Australia. He is now Director of the Canterbury Respiratory Research Group, and Community Respiratory Physician in Christchurch. He has a long-standing interest in understanding the relationship between where people live and their health, especially air-pollution and lung health. He spends time outside of work and family life learning to fly gliders, playing hockey for Canterbury Masters, and undertaking ridiculous endurance events... very slowly.
Richard laingRespiratory and Sleep Physician
After completing Respiratory training at Christchurch Hospital, Richard gained further experience in Sleep Medicine whilst working in Auckland and Toronto.

Teurai ChikuraRespiratory and Sleep Physician
Teurai is a Respiratory Physician with an interest in Sleep. After moving from Zimbabwe 10 years ago, Teurai undertook FRACP accredited training in Respiratory medicine at Dunedin and Christchurch Hospitals. Teurai has comprehensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of Sleep disorders including Sleep Apnoea. He regularly reports diagnostic Sleep studies including Polysomnography at Christchurch Hospital.
Michael hlavacRespiratory and Sleep Physician
Michael completed advanced training in Respiratory Medicine at Christchurch Hospital before traveling to Australia to gain experience in Sleep Medicine. He spent 3 years at the Adelaide Institute for Sleep Health in South Australia where he completed Sleep full FRACP Level 2 Sleep training and completed a PhD in the field of Sleep medicine. He is currently Clinical Director of Sleep Services at Christchurch Hospital.

Catherine has an extensive knowledge of how to help people with lung conditions like Asthma, Bronchiectasis, COPD (emphysema, chronic bronchitis), Restrictive Lung disease and others. Over the past 15 years Catherine has worked in New Zealand, Australia, and England.

Yvonne EptonSleep Physiologist
Yvonne trained as a Respiratory Technician in Christchurch before completing her Sleep Technologist training in Perth where she worked as Charge Sleep Technologist at the St John of God Respiratory and Sleep Centre. She has extensive experience in Sleep Diagnostics and CPAP provision.
